Expressed Demand

RLC is an extremely busy centre, and is often the first point of contact for people in NSW seeking legal advice. The Centre has a steady stream of inquiries and requests, both by phone and in person. On each of the four evening advice session 10 face-to-face and telephone interviews are conducted.

Daytime advice sessions are also held each week.

35% of our clients are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (coming from 103 different countries) and 7.4% of our clients chose to identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

In 2009-10 the Centre provided services to around 10,000 people.

•    2310 referrals/information
•    1841 legal advices
•    2031 client cases
•    116 community legal education projects
•    46 law reform projects

Tenancy Service:
•    2024 clients assisted

Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service:
•    1212 clients assisted
