What does the service do?
The Centre provides a specialist credit and debt advice service on Thursday evenings. Some daytime appointments are also available. Telephone advice is available to Financial Counsellors State-wide.Credit and debt problems can include those involving loan contracts, over-commitment, your credit card, your bank or your insurer.

Submissions:
* RLC supports ACCAN's campaign to make calls to 13 and 1800 numbers free, even when called from a mobile. Please see our submission to Australian Communication and Media Authority.
* Redfern Legal Centre made a Submission on the Consumer Credit & Corporations Legislation Amendment (Enhancements) Bill 2011. The Government sought comments on the Bill, which proposes to amend the Credit Laws as they affect a number of areas including hardship provisions, reverse mortgages, consumer leases and small amount credit contracts (or pay day loans). This submission incorporated our previous submission to Treasury on 7 September 2011 commenting on the proposed Credit Enhancement Bill regarding small amount credit contracts.
